Ante-Natal Yoga
Ante-Natal Yoga helps prepare the body for birth both emotionally and physically. Throughout pregnancy muscle areas are put under great strain which postures strengthen and encourage greater flexibility in. The aches and tensions experienced in pregnancy are relieved as the body becomes stronger from the postures adapted especially to suit the constantly changing pregnant physique.
Circulation and posture are improved helping the body and baby be optimally positioned. Good postual awareness in pregnancy will help during labor to find comfortable positions. Relaxation and breathing techniques are taught inducing a deep sense of relaxation helping the mother to stay calm in what can be a very stressful and scary experience, introducing the baby to a relaxed world.
There are a variety of benefits in Ante-Natal yoga but overall the body and mind are encouraged to open up and adapt to this major event. At present the antenatal yoga is held as workshops please contact reception for more information on availability or to register you interest. The workshops are also a good opportunity to meet other expectant mothers in the area and support each other through this experience.
