Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
So what’s holding you back from living the life you want?
Are there things that you can’t help doing, no matter how unhelpful they are?
Smoking? Nail bighting? Fear of public speaking? Lack of confidence? Phobias? Overeating? Lack of motivation?
And many other issues…
Beliefs we hold about ourselves and the world can limit us, preventing us from being the way we really want to be.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) allows you to examine your beliefs, then deconstruct and re-evaluate the ones that hold you back.
My approach is a solution focused therapy which combines NLP and hypnotherapy.
NLP is the study of how each individual makes unique sense of their world through different personality patterns and sensory preferences.
Each person’s memories, beliefs, values, decisions, favoured sense (visual, auditory, or kinaesthetic), and what are called ‘metaprograms’, develop over time to form a unique ‘model of the world’. Each of us uses this internal map to make sense of the world around us. This map has a profound effect on our thoughts and behaviour, and our relationships with others because we tend to think that our map is the same as everybody else’s.
NLP can be particularly powerful when combined with hypnotherapy, which utilizes a light ‘trance state’ in order to adjust any negative automatic behavior which is generated at an unconscious level. Evaluating cognitive responses, at this unconscious level will allow you to re-evaluate automatic patterns of thought, which are having a negative effect on your life. The trance state attained in hypnotherapy accesses the unconscious, as this is where automatic thought processes take place.
The therapist works according to your model of the world at an unconscious level so that the effect of change is deep and will resonate powerfully with you.
Each client receives a tailor made hypnotherapy recording to listen to between sessions. Listening to the recordings will allow you to tune in to the changes that are happening within you and will deeply embed positive changes as they take place.
By examining our perceptions of the present we can choose to change our future. In this way, the therapist helps you use your mind to change yourself and your life.
