Psychotherapy using Art and Play

Psychotherapy for Children and Individuals Using Art and Play Materials

Imagination is not the talent of some... but the health of all

Psychotherapy can support an individual in working toward one's own solutions to challenges we face in life. It is an opportunity to explore the inner world and relationships in a safe and confidential space.

The use of creative expression images, metaphors and stories can provide an additional way to explore one's thoughts and emotions.

For Children...

Being a parent isn't easy. Even when you've done your best, children can face challenges and difficulties that they see themselves, their schoolwork, their friends and their families and their friends.

This can sometimes be shown by changes such as increased moodiness, tearfulness, daydreaming, withdrawal, restlessness, difficulties in school, changes in behaviour. These changes may happen as a result of such events as a bereavement, family separation, sibling birth, changes in stepfamilies, moving house, changing schools, academic pressures and evengrowing up. Art and Play Psychotherapy can assist your child in making sense of his/her emotional experiences and build language that allows those feelings to be expressed in a different way.

By working together, we can then find a way that you can support your child in being able to make changes.

For Adults...

Psychotherapy is inherently a creative exploration of one's inner world and the relationships in one's life.

You would be supported in using whatever way you felt would best suit your needs, whether it be talking or using any of the other creative material available in the room.
