Where does Osteopathy fit in?

Osteopathic treatment during pregnancy involves gentle, hands-on techniques tailored to support your body through the changes of pregnancy and the post partum (after the birth) period. 

Sessions include a full assessment and treatment utilising osteopathic and cranial osteopathy techniques to relieve pain, improve mobility, promote relaxation and help with the physical changes that impact your functional movement (the normal movements you carry out during a day).  We combine this with a personalised care plan to help you adapt and thrive during your pregnancy.

Nutritional Therapy and Herbal Medicine during pregnancy offer essential support in two key areas:

General Nutrition Guidance: This involves providing expert advice on a balanced, nourishing diet to support a healthy pregnancy for the mother while ensuring the nutritional needs for optimal fetal development are met. This guidance extends into the postpartum phase, where proper nutrition plays a crucial role in supporting breastfeeding, enhancing energy levels, improving mood, strengthening physical recovery, and promoting overall well-being after childbirth.
  2. Addressing Specific Health Concerns: In addition to general nutritional advice, consultations may address specific health concerns such as digestive issues, blood sugar regulation, energy levels, and more. During the session, the nutritionist and herbalist will review current health concerns, medical history, dietary habits, and lifestyle. Based on this, a personalized plan will be developed, offering tailored nutritional recommendations, supplement suggestions, and herbal remedies as applicable.
