As we step into a new year, and as winter draws, many of us naturally reflect on what we’ve been carrying emotionally, especially the old hurts or past traumas that still seem to shape how we feel and respond today. If you’ve found yourself wondering how to finally let go of what’s been weighing on your heart, EMDR may offer the relief you’ve been seeking.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a well-established, evidence-based approach that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories so their emotional intensity fades. If certain memories continue to replay in your mind or influence how you feel day-to-day, it’s important to know that there is an effective way forward.

In my practice, I combine EMDR with hypnotherapy to create an even gentler, more effective healing experience. EMDR works efficiently to desensitise and process the emotional charge of difficult memories, while hypnotherapy helps to reprogram the mind to a more positive resolve and thereby helping your mind feel deeply safe and supported. Together, they offer a powerful path to releasing what seems to hinder feeling completely at peace, allowing those memories to soften so they no longer carry influence over your present.
